Connecting TI Jacinto 6 Plus remotely through port forwarding (public IP)

Hi,

I am trying to connect board remotely  through TELNET, made configuration changes  to the router configuration and created a virtual server through port forwarding.

But Iam unable to connect to the board because TELNET is inactive on the board,

So please suggest to bring TELNET up  on the board and please clarify whether we can connect board remotely through public IP.

With Regards,

-Vamsi.

  • Hi,

Which SDK version are you using ? (I am assuming Linux)

May I know why you are not using SSH ? you should be able to get an IP through DHCP and SSH out of the box, I haven't checked telnet.

  • Hi Vineet,

    SDK used:ti-processor-sdk-linux-automotive-dra7xx-evm-03_04_00_03

    Linux Version:4.4.85

I am not able configure SSH for port forwarding in my router configuration, and ssh is for accessing hardware in a local network I guess, so it may not work for public IP.

Is there any other way to take board access remotely ? Please suggest,

  • Hi Vamsi,

I checked internally and Telnet works out of the box. I think whatever network issues you are having is not related to the software running on the EVM. I would suggest that instead of working over a public IP you first try to get the remote connection working with a local PC.

Public networks are always tricky with firewalls and different network configurations.
