  • Hello Doris,

If you posted your HDK problem before, can you please give me the link?

What is the error message when connecting the JTAG to the target board? Have you programmed anything to the MCU flash before? Is the HDK powered properly (LEDs on: 3.3V, 1.2v)? After the USB cable is plugged to microUSB connector, is the LED (D12) next to FTDI chip (U27) turned on?

I talked with the same person (QJ Wang), here is the link: TMS570LC4357: TMS570 is locked - Other microcontrollers forum - Other microcontrollers - TI E2E support forums

    1. What is the error message when connecting the JTAG to the target board?

Dap: Error connecting to the target: (Error -241 @ 0x0) A router subpath could not be accessed. A security error has probably occurred. Make sure your device is unlocked. (Emulation package 9.3.0.00032)

    1. Have you programmed anything to the MCU flash before?

Yes, we programmed our source code

    1. Is the HDK powered properly (LEDs on: 3.3V, 1.2v)? After the USB cable is plugged to microUSB connector, is the LED (D12) next to FTDI chip (U27) turned on?

    nERROR – OFF

Power rails LEDs - All ON

    LED D12 - ON

I spent more than half a day to repeat these steps (posted to my question in the forum by QJ Wang), no success

#1. Press the reset (nRST) button and hold it    --- S3 on HDK

#2. Click “Connect Target” immediately after you release the nRST button

When the message windows (Figure 1 & 2) pop up, click "cancel", and repeat #1 and #2

  • Hello Suthan,

I think the JTAG issue is caused by the code in the flash. I reproduced this kind of issue before, normally it will take several time to re-connect to JTAG.

  • We have tried many times (spent well over half day trying to fix this issue as well as several hours on different days corresponding back and forth through this site) – therefore we would like a new board that works, in exchange for the locked up board.

  • I understood. As far as i knew, this is the only way to re-connect JTAG to the target.
