Amit Ashara's, well deserved, "Countdown to 100K Forum Points!" Bravo Amit!

Guru 47900 points
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ENERGIA

Sometime later today - or surely early tomorrow - our forum leader will reach 100K points - simply terrific!

Caring, super-responsive, & detailed tech support - so rare these days - and across every phase of his TM4C devices.

Great job Amit - while some question decisions made from the "mount" - your service here has long been outstanding.

Thanks for the great job you do.   Know that your efforts are appreciated...

  • I would like to take this also give my thanks to Amit and my early congratulations!

You have helped and still help me so much. The Tiva was the first MCU I used without Energia/Arduino and here was where I got my help, most from Amit!
Could say that knows more about the Tiva than the datasheet and always up to share that knowledge with everyone, taking the time to help from newbies to professionals. That takes also lots of patience, not only knowledge!

Again, thanks for all the support!
  • Indeed. Thank you, Amit! You're doing an awesome job.
  •  Hi, Silence has to be broken for this very good news and if flea appear here.. I am ready with electric high voltage burner.

Many thanks Amit for all friendly help and conversation too, I am afraid see you are involved in a so huge work but I forever appreciate passion and kind you apply  addressing all question also if worst.

I wish the best for our very great and unique friend.

"Bravo" Amit, congratulation for this  but I don't see official recognition nor catering for a so unique rare event.

     See you.

     Roberto

  • Hello Roberto, cb1, Luis, Veikko, BP101,

Thank you all for your kind wishes. Just doing my job and learning alongside all of you (doesn't matter even if you are in school... Luis).

May I invite you to the following link... This is the first of 3 designs for which I sought opinion...

Review, Comment (and I know my best honest critics are here)...

  • Hi Amit,

I assume the board only works directly (plug in without wires) on the (really expensive) evaluation board?
If the idea was to demonstrate the EPI it's great.
The board also seems really simple to make + with a ready made example I would probably chose it right away if I needed one.

What I think is most well done is demonstrating the capabilities of the EPI. I think the example should be added to Tivaware examples under "peripherals" and the board folder, it's a more clear example than the current + it has a specific RAM, add the link of that design on the example.
I think it should be added under peripherals because the current one uses a bit of HWREG().

I will wait eagerly for your next 2 designs.
  • Hello Luis,

Yes, that is correct. The first board is for the EVM (expensive one) as SDRAM was the only viable option. The other 2 are for the LaunchPad (cheap one :-)).

I wanted to make the example more functional and hence the next 2 designs will have execution in external memory for boot from sources... (surprise!!!).

Since the next TivaWare is almost out of the door, we could not intercept it there, but going forward they will come as addon to TivaWare as well. Thanks for the inputs...

    Regards
    Amit

I wish Luis out of school asap and me too as retirement I feel to far due to bad government politics. These tools are to be introduced at school instead of Arduino and Hobby community and also instead of prehistoric PIC from Microchip... I feel a bad behaviour from TIVA series, it appear as me like an expensive hobby marketed device and maybe, if production start, get away TIVA from boards, I am afraid of your great work is really appreciated but commercial section of TI I feel, like other designers say, is not supporting correctly production in front of hobby selling of gifted boards.

Amit, I appreciate a lot your work, it is really amazing and well done, I don't appreciate this:

"Fully assembled board (shown above) developed for testing and performance validation only, not available for sale."

it sound really worst, this is a 200US$ board add on not a 10US$ board sell for less than chip value. Anyway for just less more USD Elektronica sell a more more better board complete of ram controllerless better tft display and a capacitive touch.

I don't like this really worst politics and support of just people coming here to scream support for a product where primary goal of it was teaching on school, they  never can produce one unit in the future than ask for home job solved also for nothing like the board value they bought.

SO here person asking have one HTML line modified un underundergraduate student is able to do or one c line of code are best served then engineer developing his board. This Amit is not for your great job, is to TI worst policy. I don't see market share of TIVA chips and number are quite static.
