TM4C129ENCZAD: Crystal Configuration

Part Number: TM4C129ENCZAD

Hello,

The customer is using this 25MHz crystal: www.ndk.com/.../c_NX3225GA-STD-CRG-2_e.pdf

Can you confirm this is proper component values and configuration:

  • 12pF on XTL pin 1 to GND
  • 12pF on XTL pin 3 to GND
  • XTL pin 1 directly connected to OSC0
  • XTL pin 3 connect to OSC1 through 2.2k resistor

Thank you,
Ryan B

  • I can say that is very similar to what we use on the EK-TM4C1294 launchpads. The difference is that we use 2.0K (5%) resistor and the crystal pins are swapped in our schematic (but that does not make a difference).

  • Just glancing at your schematic - as a (sometimes/selective) "purist" - would not a small value resistor - placed between Reset and the "R-C" network - provide added protection?   (perhaps justified as the Reset Line often travels extensively - thus subject to "noise/other gremlins.")
