DK-TM4C129X: Wrong characters rendered ! ("ã©" instead of "é") on grlib demo

Hi there,

I'm using the TM4C129X dev board with grlib demo project and Tivaware version SW-TM4C-GRL-UG-2.1.4.178.

I added an Extended font to the project via the "ftrasterize" tool and it works well with the basic Latin alphabet characters.

When i tested the Western European accented characters I saw incorrect characters rendered! For example "ã©" instead of "é".

I suspected the tool generated font, so I have used the Extended Font included in Tivaware (g_sFontExHandwriting22) but I got the same issue.

I changed the source text codepage via GrStringCodepageSet(...) to CODEPAGE_ISO8859_1 and CODEPAGE_UTF_8 and I have always the same issue.

Can someone help me please?

I can't imagine that it would be anywhere but in the font files.

Hi Bob,
Thanks for your replay.
As i reported before, I had a doubt on generated fonts, so i used the g_sFontExHandwriting22, a Tivaware included Fonts and nothing changed!
That is my problem.

The fonts supplied in TivaWare are in the directory "third_party". They are provided as a convenience, but are not created by, nor supported by TI. If I knew the answer to your questions about the fonts I could help you, but I do not. You might be able to get some help from:

Is there any font in Tivaware that support the Western European accented characters?

Hello Hatem,

I saw your message on your E2E friend request. Bob's answer is accurate, we do not support missing or non-functional fonts from that third party offering. You are using the right format choice per the documentation we have regarding font selections. However, as Bob stated, we provided that as a resource to ease development and do not support issues such as the font not rendering the expected characters as we have no part in development or maintenance of the font offerings.
