EK-TM4C123GXL: Unable to program

Part Number: EK-TM4C123GXL

Hello, I received two EK-TM4C123GXL Launchpad Evaluation Kits on October 22, 2018. I own one of these already so I know that the problem isn't my computer but it is the two boards that I have received. I cannot program these boards as they give me this error on Keil uVision 4 IDE: "Stellaris ICDI Error: Could not initialize target device. Please power cycle board and try again." I also noticed that these boards state on the back "For evaluation only; not FCC approved for resale" and the TEST PASS sticker is not marked. I am wondering if there is any way for me to get these replaced for two programmable Launchpads. Thank you very much for your time, and the best way to contact me is through email: doanandy9511@yahoo.com .

  • Hello Andy,

Sorry to hear you are having problems with your new launchpads. Does the green power LED immediately below the debug micro USB connector turn on when you connect the USB cable? If not, double check that the switch to the left of the connector is to the right (debug side). All of these boards carry the "For evaluation only; not FCC approved for resale". The existence of the "TEST PASS" sticker on your boards means that they had passed our outgoing test. The probability of you being shipped two non-working launchpads is very small.

If you need to return these launchpads, contact the distributor you purchased them from. If you purchased through the TI store, please call the non-technical support line:

  • I'm doing the same exact procedure to program the board because I have 3 years of experience with programming these boards. The green led lights up, my computer recognizes the device drivers in device manager, I just can't load even a simple led blinking program to the board.

  • Andy,

Did you return these boards or otherwise resolve this issue?
