Hello E2E community,

I am having trouble loading a simple blinky example code in my TM4C123GH6PM Board.

I am getting an error in code composer saying:

CORTEX_M4_0: GEL Output:
Memory Map Initialization Complete
CORTEX_M4_0: File Loader: Verification failed: Values at address 0x00000001 do not match Please verify target memory and memory map.
CORTEX_M4_0: GEL: File: C:\Users\Mustapha\Embedded_Systems\lesson0\blinky\Debug\blinky.out: a data verification error occurred, file load failed.

I am not really sure what's going on, I struggle trying to fix the problem for the past couple of days, and I still can't come up with a solution.

By the way I look around for solution here as well but I couldn't find anything to help me resolve mines.

Hello Mustapha,

Are you using the TivaWare blinky example? Is the LaunchPad brand new?

Hey Ralph,

Yes I'm using tivaware blinky example. And I also wrote my own simple program to turn on and off Port_f on board leds but that didn't work as well.

Hello Mustapha,

Can you check that the crystal frequency is correct in the On-Chip Flash tab. Once you connect to the device, select "Tools"->"On-chip Flash". Check that the crystal frequency is set to 8 MHz:

I did what you told me. But am still having the same issue. Still not sure why.

Hello Mustapha,

We are both in that boat right now, I also reviewed past issues for one that may explain your problem but came up empty, and it's not an error that's exactly easily recreateable for us.

Can you try doing the following?

1) Download LM Flash Programmer www.ti.com/.../LMFLASHPROGRAMMER and use the Flash Utilities tab to do an "Erase" and then a "Blank Check".
2) If you are successful with step 1, then go to the Program tab and select a TivaWare program such as qs-rbg which can be found at [Install Path]\TivaWare_C_Series-2.1.4.178\examples\boards\ek-tm4c123gxl\qs-rgb\ccs\Debug and program it into your LaunchPad (you would select the .bin file in that folder)
3) If the programming is successful then power cycle the board (either pressing the RESET button on the LaunchPad or unplugging and replugging the USB cable) and see if the RBG LED comes on.

First of, thank you for helping out, am making a little bit of progress. Now when I get into debug mode I am not getting no error, which is great thing. However, the code is not loading on the launchpad that's the issues am having right now.

0X04 on board led is not turning on for some odd reason. I would really appreciate your input to help me debug this last issue. Thank you very much in advance!

Hello Mustapha,

I don't know what you mean by 0x04 on board LED? Do you mean the RGB LED? Did you power cycle the board after programming qs-rgb to it?

Your screenshot doesn't show any code running that controls the LED...
