DK-TM4C129X: DK-TM4C129X

Part Number: DK-TM4C129X

Hi , I received the  DK-TM4C129X launchpad.

After powering it, weather demo was warning.

Then, after installing stellaris icdi drivers available in the USB kek on my win10 pc, I launched CComposer,I configured it, I developed a simple led blink application, then I flashed it on the micro available on the dev kit.

The flashing procedure got stuck. I powered the board again and now it is not possible to flash it anymore.

Enclosed the board, with the jumpers configuration for you to check.

I also launched LM flash programmer applicationto try to erase and flash the binary from there, but when I try to do this it says: Unable to find the target.

I checked on Win10 device management whether stellaris drivers were correctly loaded and they are.

How can I deal with this issue?

Bests,

Luca Minin

  • Hi Luca,

      Sorry to hear your problem.

Can you show the screenshot of the Windows device manager? Do you see something like below?

If the ICDI is properly enumerated in the device manager then the driver is ok.

Can you try to unlock the device using the LM flash programmer? See if that will solve the Problem. Please follow the instructions carefully when unlocking.

  • Hi Luca,

I have responded to your private message. What is your current status?

  • Hello Charles,

Those here - seeking to 'LEARN' from the great assistance which the forum team provides - are ALWAYS ... DISAPPOINTED & FRUSTRATED - when the thread 'Goes Private!'

That's not the (proper) forum spirit - and MANY here suffer - just as this poster - and SURELY WOULD BENEFIT - from PUBLIC (NEVER PRIVATE) Tech Advice & Guidance!

  • Hi Luca,

I have not heard back from you. Since I have responded to your private message I will close the thread her for now. If you have some update you can reply back to this post to open the thread again. If you have new questions, please open a new thread. As a heads up, I will be out of office next week.

  • Hello,

I was never been able to flash a binary to this board..

I tried to erase the flash with LM flash programmer,I received the same error (Error connecting to the target).

I installed Uniflash and tried again to erase the flash, It states the same error. The same again with CCS.

Here below the error trown with Uniflash: when I start the erase the D2 led blinks for a less than a second, then the error is shown on Uniflash.

I'll ask to be refunded; I bought the device from TI ecommerce directly - so I'll forward this request (mentioning this converation) to the proper contacts.

Thanks in advance for your support.

    Bests,

  • Dear support,

I've been informed by the Costumer Support to clarify you that I'm eligible for board replacement.

They told me that "...the E2E engineers work directly for the business unit and has authority to confirm the return process. Unfortunately, here in the helpdesk, we are unable to guarantee or authorize the return of any evaluation modules. Once we have confirmation from the E2E engineer, I will endorse your case to the relevant department...."

Please let me know how we can go on.

    Thanks,

    Luca

  • Hi Luca,

Sorry, I was out of office for the last few days and just got back. I have a couple questions that I hope you can answer.

     1. When you plug in the board the first time, did the weather demo work?

     2. In the private message you sent me you said "I  unlocked the device using the LM flash programmer, it succeeded in the unlock but the problem is still present.." Can you please elaborate how you believed the unlocked was successful? Can you show some message from the LM flash programmer saying so?

     3. You said that you tried to flash a simple LED blinking application and it got stuck. Do you mind to send me the application program. I hope you still have the exact program that you tried to flash and got stuck. I would like to see if I can replicate any similar behavior on my bench.

     4. I want to know if your problem is related to ICDI debug probe? Do you have another standalone debug probe at your disposal? For example, do you have XDS100, XDS200 or JLink debug probe? If yes, can you please try to see if you can connect to the target? What debug probe will you use to debug your custom board for final production?

  • Hi Luca,

Do you have any updates for my questions?
