TM4C1292NCZAD: Ethernet to CAN and USB conversion

Part Number: TM4C1292NCZAD
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TM4C1294NCZAD

Does TM4C1292NCZAD support ethernet to USB/CAN conversion or is another device recommended. Please share SW library which supports this conversion. Will external memory be required for implementing the protocol conversion or the built in memory should be sufficient.

  • The TM4C1292NCZAD does have the necessary peripherals to do ethernet to USB or CAN conversions. With 1024 KB of flash it should have sufficient internal memory. The protocol however will be custom. We do not have example code doing such a conversion but we do have examples of using each interface independently. You may want to consider using a TM4C1294NCZAD which has the built-in ethrnet phy. See the TivaWare library for peripheral drivers and example code.

  • Hello Pawan,

Just want to mention one other resource here as we do not have software that handles that conversion. We do have a third-party partner, Elco Solutions, who provides software development services (hardware as well) and has a lot of expertise with TM4C and these peripherals (especially Ethernet). That may be an option to investigate regarding getting development done. You can find out more about Elco here: https://www.elco-solutions.de/
