MCT8316Z: Please review the schematic

Hi Chase,

Here is some feedback for the customer:

1. The capacitor values look good, though I will get back to you to confirm whether or not the charge pump capacitance is correct since there is a difference between the value in the datasheet and the value on our EVM. 

2. I didn't see any voltage ratings on the capacitors, so just make sure that the voltage ratings are 2x the voltage that the capacitor will see. For C1, C6, and C7 the customer will want a 50V cap rating since they will experience at least 24V on those nodes. For C2, this needs to be rated for 16V (see datasheet), C3 and C4 needs to be rated for 6.3V, and then C5 needs to be at least 10V. 

3. The customer could add HPx to HNx capacitors for optional filtering if desired. 

4. Our EVM uses split ground for AGND and PGND, which helps reduce noise from PGND from interfering with AGND. Customer may consider using this approach and can refer at our EVM as a reference. The customer can refer to section 1 of Best Practices for Board Layout of Motor Drivers for more information on implementing a split ground layout.

Hi Chase,

I discussed with the team and they recommended using a 47nF capacitor for the charge pump. There were some reasons why we initially suggested a 10nF capacitor, but those issues have since been resolved so now the 47nF capacitor is the recommended value.
