Hi,
When motor brake suddenly and have a big reverse voltage. will this damage our DRV8835?
about this kind of situation, do we have any solution to fix it?
thanks in advanced for your help.

Hi Shuang,
Do you mean reverse voltage or current? Can you measure VM and motor current during braking? If you meant reverse current that is causing VM overvoltage you can use larger VM cap to store small braking energy (low speed or inertia), for higher energies you would probably need TVS or Zener diode or braking chopper.

Shuang,
You might find this blog article interesting that discusses the reverse current that "pumps" up the supply. The ways to address this are exactly what Grzegorz is referring to.

The DRV8835 will be damaged by a voltage at VM that exceeds the abs. max voltage as specified in the datasheet.
