DRV3245Q-Q1: TBLANK setting with the STP_fault and DEADT_FAULT

Part Number: DRV3245Q-Q1

Hi, Team,

My customer found DRV3245 sometime will trig the STP_FAULT and DEADT_FAULT in their system, when the MCU's PWM with 1.5us deadtime(Setting by MCU). After checking the register setting, they found the 0x07 set as followed:

The TBLANK set as 0us, the Dead_time set as 150ns.

Our questions:

1. If the TBLANK=0s, is it more easily to trigger the STP_FAULT?

2. Is the DEAD_FAULT triggered by the STP_FAULT in customer's system? For this setting, the DEAD_TIME set by DRV3245 is 150ns, but the MCU's output with 1.5us deadtime, which should not trigger the DRV3245's DEAD_FAULT.

  • Hi JW,

The team will get back to you soon on this question!

    Thanks,

    Matt

  • JW,

Both the STP_FAULT and DEADT_FAULT are measured at the INLx/INHx inputs. Neither setting is effected by the VDS TBLANK setting.

If the customer tries to turn on both the INHx/INLx inputs at the same time they will trigger a STP_FAULT which is detected at the INHx/INLx inputs.

If the customer violates the dead time setting they have programmed in DEAD_TIME then a DEADT_FAULT will be triggered.

Often the DEADT_FAULT and STP_FAULT will trigger at the same time if the customer violates these input conditions.

    Regards,
