DRV2605LEVM-MD: Firmware upgrade

Part Number: DRV2605LEVM-MD
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV2605L,

Hi Team,

When the customer connects DRV2605LEVM-MD with HCC GUI, HCC GUI recognizes as DRV2605L instead of DRV2605LEVM-MD. Follow the instructions to upgrade the firmware, the original text of the instructions is as follows:

" After connecting, the DRV2605LEVM-MD console window automatically appears. If properly connected, the console window displays a Console: DRV2605LEVM-MD – USB title. If the DRV2605L console window appears instead of the DRV2605LEVM-MD, then the board needs a firmware update to communicate properly with HCC. To perform a firmware update, go to Help → Firmware Update and then follow the instructions listed at the bottom of the window and try the process again"

But according to the window description process, the device is always not detected (as shown in the screenshot)

Thanks,

Annie

  • Hello Annie,

To perform a firmware update, you need to first put the device into BSL mode. To do this, disconnect the USB cable (power if using an external supply), hold down the BSL button on the EVM and reconnect the USB/Power (while still holding the button). Once the board powers on, you can release the button and click scan device again. The EVM should then appear as a BSL device.

    Best Regards,
