DRV8714-Q1: IN4 is not needed. How should this pin be terminated?

Part Number: DRV8714-Q1

Hi all,

The customer only uses 3 PWM inputs for DRV8714H-Q1. In this case, should IN4 be left open or tied to GND?

Regards,
RYO

  • Hello RYO,

If the inputs have been correctly mapped to the desired outputs, and only 3 are necessary, then the customer should be able to leave IN4 open without a need to connect it to ground as shown in the typical application diagram:

If there is any confusion on mapping the half bridge outputs to the inputs pages 28 and 29 of the documentation give a detailed description on how to assign the outputs. If you have any other questions please let me know.

    Best,
