DRV8350H-EVM: Serial Communications

I am wondering if this drive can be communicated through serial since we can access the parameter through USB communication. I do know that this drive has SPI but I want to see if there is another way to communicate. I am trying to communicate this drive using LabVIEW.

Hi Brian,

The DRV8350HEVM has an FTDI chip that converts USB to UART to the onboard MSP430F5529 MCU.

How does LabView interface with USB? Looks like you may need to recognize the USB device first through LabView.

Are there any documentations on how the UART commands are structured?

Hi Brian,

You can download the source code firmware and look into the mdbuSerial source and include files. I'll have to check internally with our SW experts and see if we have any documentation or resources on how this works.
