DRV110: Recommended Power Supply

Or if I were to use a 10V regulated supply, like this part https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/stmicroelectronics/L78L10ACUTR/1038281 could we get away without a current limiting resistor?

Or is there a recommended resistor value that could suit us over that whole range of values?

The whole range of input voltage values, that is. (22-30V)

Thanks for your interest in using DRV110! I do sincerely apologize for the delay as I have been out of office as of late.

To address your concerns: you will achieve the best performance when the part is supplied a stable voltage. As long as the regulator maintains a steady voltage output to VIN, I see no problem powering the chip from a variable battery voltage. 20mA to VIN should be sufficient for continuous device operation.

Thanks Kevin. So, it seems like running this part directly from battery voltage (22-30V) with a current limiting resistor would not be recommended. I see that the zener voltage drops when the temperature is above 45C. If we used a 10-12V supply, at what temperatures might the zener voltage fall below those levels with EN pulled low?
