Hi Team,

The customer is experiencing below issue and needs your help.

As long as EN is enabled, the CLK signal is not sent, and the motor load is not connected, the chip generates serious heat.

We will need some more information. Customer board or EVM? Thermal pad soldered to board?

Even without clock signal, the device can be holding at some current. What is the load? Is it possible to measure current in each coil if it is a stepper?

This is customer board. Thermal pad soldered to board. 3.3V and 5V are external power supplies.

Is there any problem when the NABLE and SLEEP pins are short-circuited?

Annie,

No issue with those pins shorted together. It is actually "nSLEEP", so a logic high on this pin will enable the device.

Please let me know about current in coils.
