DRV8313: Hall based position control

Hi TI team

I am using a DRV8313 custom board for controlling a hall sensor-based BLDC motor. I have successfully implemented speed control, now I want to do position control.

Please suggest to me how to obtain the exact rotor position with Hall-sensor feedback. I am using TMS320F28379D Launchpad.

Hello Prabhat,

Thank you for your question. The position of the rotor can be extracted by obtaining the current state in the commutation table of your motor. For example if your motor has 3 hall effect sensors in the motor you should be able to extract a 6 state commutation table. This will give you the current location of the rotor based on the output of each hall effect sensor.
