BOOSTXL-DRV8320H: motorVars.VdcBus_V parameters is always display 2.1V

Hi there,

I'm running example 5(motor_id_out) from the C2000_MotorSDK using LAUNCHXL-F280049C with BOOSTXL-DRV8320H. While running on CCS real-time debugging, in expression window motorVars.VdcBus_V is showing 2.1V. I connected a BLDC hub motor with 48V supply. There is no lose connection. What could be the issue. Is it a issue related to DRV8320H while code is for DRV8320RS?

I have checked that voltage on VSENVM pin is zero.

Hello Tanay,

The BOOSTXL-DRV8320H and BOOSTXL-DRV8320RS are not the same launchpad and have different header definitions.

BOOSTXL-DRV8320RS is designed to support the F280049C: for example the VSENVM pin is pin 2 of the BOOSTXL-DRV8320H while the same pin is the PGA Ground on the BOOSTXL-DRV8320RS. Please review both user guides to see the difference in the launchpad interface.

There isn't an easy way to do that without major re-work of the board and blue wiring.

1 more doubt is if I will use MSP-EXP430F5529LP with DRV2320H then would it be able to read motor parameters just like in example 5 (motor_id_out). Does it support FAST Algo/Instaspin FOC?

Hello Tanay,

MSP430 does not support InstaSPIN, it does not have the performance required.
