DRV8308 Question to TI: Information about this item has disappeared from the list of offered items on the site.
But when searching, it appears as active. What does it mean?
I have applied this element in new development and
it suits me. But the situation on the TI website is somewhat alarming regarding future prospects.

Hello Viacheslav,

I think you are asking about the DRV8308, not DVR8308, correct? DVR8308 is not a valid part number.

Hi Leonard. Of course about the DRV8308. And under the link www.ti.com/product/DRV8308 everything is fine.
But it is not in the list of drivers www.ti.com/.../products.html .And this is the question: why?

Thanks for your question. We have not removed DRV8308 from ti.com and you can still search for it using the ti.com search field. We have unlinked it from the list of products shown on our BLDC products table because we believe there are better and newer product options for our customers to choose should they be designing a new system. For customers who are already using DRV8308, they can still locate the datasheet, EVM, and other related information.

Removing the DRV8308 from the product table does not relate to our forecast of product longevity, and the device product page will always reflect its status. In fact, you can read more about TI's longevity policy here: [FAQ] TI end-of-life (EOL) and obsolescence policy - Motor drivers forum - Motor drivers - TI E2E support forums. You can read that "Our company makes an effort to not obsolete products out of convenience."

Hi Matt, thanks for the quick response.
From it I realized that there is an improved BLDC driver / controller.
I am interested in the device that TI recommends replacing DRV8308.
It must operate in closed-loop control mode and control the speed of the input frequency like DRV8308.
I did not find anything like this in the list of proposed devices.

Hello Vlacheslav,

TI does not recommend replacing DRV8308 with a different device. My comment was that for new designs, TI has other devices and solutions available.

DRV8308 has been a classically difficult device to tune and use, and many customers after much frustration have been unable to properly design it into their system. We have found that a gate driver & MCU solution is much more flexible and can be tuned for many more applications where DRV8308 has not been successful.
