Hi, TI expert.

Customer has an inquiry about recommending a motor driver.

Can you recommend a motor driver (Step motor, DC motor) suitable for the motor spec you are using? (refer to the attached motor spec)

Please recommend step motor driver and DC motor driver suitable for each.

If possible, it would be nice to have a good device for supplying samples.

Hello, Grady,

Please use DRV8426 to drive that stepper motor and use DRV8426E to driver that brushed motor.

Is there any special reason to drive a stepper motor with the DRV8426 and a brushed motor with the DRV8426E?

In the case of the DRV8426E, it says stepper or dual brushed motor driver. If I use two DRV8426Es to drive a stepper motor and a DC motor respectively, will there be any other problems?

Grady,

DRV8426E uses PH/EN input interface. DRV8426 uses STEP/DIR input interface.

To drive a stepper motor with DRV8426E and high resolution micro-stepping setting, the host controller has to change PH pin setting and send two analog signal VREFx to DRV8426E. DRV8426 can easily do micro-stepping setting by setting fixed MODE0 and MODE1 pin voltage.
