DRV8843: DRV8803/8843 and DRV103 potential difference

Hi,

Customer have been testing the DRV8803 and 8843 as a solenoid valve driver in their application.  According to them, these ICs have shown to have inferior volumetric performance compared to the DRV103. They want to know the potential difference of these devices. Below is the details.

"

We suspect that this is the driver's performance as the DRV103's oscillator is analog and we are driving the 8803/8843 via PWM from a microcontroller which we proved to ourselves is extremely precise.  Thus, the DRV103 has inferior PWM control yet the driver is working better and we are not sure why.

We are directly using the reference design in both datasheets.  Could you shed some light on potential differences?  We are looking to have a digitally controlled version of the DRV103 as it will remove EMC considerations, is there a more modern version that would have the same drive characteristics without needing an external LRC circuit to generate PWM which will be imprecise?
"

Thank you in advance.

Regards,
