DRV8860: paralleling outputs for higher current

Part Number: DRV8860

the datasheet says that it can support Parallel Configuration for higher output current. How are the outputs are paralleled   ( device1 out1 in parallel to device2 out1 or device1 out1 in parallel to device 1 out2) can you point me to a reference design picture below is figure 8 from DRV8860 dtasheet

  • Allan,

Ideally, you would parallel connect outputs from the same device, so device 1 OUT1 to device 1 OUT2.  But, you can connect across devices as long as you make sure to issue the LATCH command at the same time so the outputs transition together and you avoid any shoot-thru cases as the outputs transition.

I am sorry there is not a diagram in the datasheet.

What is the application and current needs?  We might have newer devices more suited like the DRV890x family.

    Regards,

    Ryan

  • Hello Allan,

I just wanted to check if you still needed assistance with this issue?
