DRV8844: Test Method of DRV8844 for Massive Production Test

Hi TI expert,

How can we test DRV8844 for Massive Production Test?

Do we have methods like certain electrical load to simulate the stepper motor to test DRV8844?

    First, we have to clarify the massive production test propose:

    1. Do we want to check the board component soldering issue? Need a test feature to check key test point's resistance.

    2. Do we want to check DRV8844 function? In this case, we need to simulate the stepper motor and verify key functions.

    3. Do we want to check the system operating? In this case, we need to put a real motor to check the whole system.

    BTW, we have ATE test to check DRV8844 device, but, not custom massive production test.

    Then I want to know how we test DRV8844 using ATE? Do we check test point's resistance to verify whether the DRV8844 is OK? 

    Customer just want to make sure that the DRV8844 can work properly after using the real motor. I think they will need key test point's resistance and function test. Hence, how to simulate the stepper motor to verify the functions?

  • Hello, Jayce,

    "key test point resistance" means the test point and its resistance on a customer board. Not on DRV8844 device. TI ATE test makes DRV8844 device follows datasheet spec. In general, we don't share our test method with customers.

    Use a real motor to test it.
