DRV8243-Q1: DRV8243

Part Number: DRV8243-Q1

We have received 200 PCS of the DRV8243-Q1  preproduction version, which we ordered through the TI shop directly.

We have allready made the PCB for our first run and we have programmed the IN1 to be the PWM with 300Hz  and the IN2 to be the direction.

There is NO movement of the motor, the chips gets a good bit warm and consumes 27mA on 28V battery power, but both outputs stay at 0.37V. Nfault goes to 0V  instead of keeping high.

It looks like we have a substancial problem with the initial setting of the chip and pin connections. Is there a way, we need to program the chip and its registers in hardware mode ????

See attached schematic.

Pse tell us, what we made wrong, so that the chip works in the normal hardware version (NO SPI) and we can get the motor to turn.

  • Reinhard,

Can you please send me a picture of the top side marking of the devices you received and the associated packaging?  I want to make sure you received the "H" version...hardware version of the device as I think you ordered.

    Regards,

    Ryan
