DRV8353R: Assign HAL to INLA,INHA,INLB in 1xPWM Mode

Hello,

Do you have any way how to assign? For instance some table where are signals on Phases A, B, C and correct levels on INLA,INHA,INLB.

Hi Pavel,

Are you talking about the EVM? If so, please populate R46, R48, R51 with 0-ohm resistors and set the DRV8353R into 1x PWM mode via SPI (setting PWM_MODE to 1x PWM) or HW (MODE pin to Hi-Z).

If you are talking about how to do it in general on a custom PCB and what the pinout is (and commutation table will be), please use one of the two configurations below, where Hall sensors go to the MCU or directly back to the DRV8353R.

The following commutation tables will describe the gate drive output states depending on INLA, iNHB, and INLB (Hall Sensors) and direction (INHC). If you have SPI version, you can also set ansychronous modulation rather than synchronous modulation.

Hi Aaron,

I want to connect BLDC motor to DRV8353SR corectly. I think that the best way is disconnect motor phases from DRV and put current to motor phases as it is in my table. Motor moves to some possition and i measure levels on motor HAL outputs. Than I can connect these outputs correctly to INLA,INHA,INLB.

Maybe there is better way to do it.

Hi Pavel,

We will try to give you an updated response to you by the end of this week.

Our team has just come back from Thanksgiving holiday break and will try to look into this further once we've had a chance to catch up on emails and e2e threads

For an initial answer, we do recommend setting up your motor phase and hall phase connections in the manner that Aaron suggested.

The diagram posted is from the official product datasheet, and the official TI EVM design for this product would have the same setup for you to review

I connected U to A output, V to B and W to C. Motor work nice.
