DRV8300DIPW-EVM: Creating neutral point voltage in bldc motor

Part Number: DRV8300DIPW-EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8300

Hi,

I am using DRV8300 3 Phase driver ic

I have an issue of creating neutral point of BLDC motor with which i can compare Phase back emf zero crossing

Kindly help me, How to create neutral point or any other way of commutation using back emf

  • Hell Anmol,

Thank you for posting to the MD forum. The datasheet for DRV8300 contains an image of what you can implement for a virtual neutral point in order to perform current sensing on a BLDC motor.

As shown in this figure, you can implement a system to measure each phase separately or you may also unite them all at one point and measure all of the phases combined. This will determine how many current sense amplifiers will be needed. I hope this help!

    Best,

    Isaac
