Hi TI,

We are Looking PWM Controlled BLDC MOTOR DRIVER which is working on 24V battery operated and the motor current can go upto 50A, with Hall sensor , Could you please suggest any Development kit or evaluation kit

    Hi Amol,

    Please evaluate the DRV8306EVM. It is a PWM controlled gate driver with sensored trapezoidal control and Hall sensor feedback. 

    You could also look at using 1x PWM mode in the following devices/EVMs:

    DRV832x

    BOOSTXL-DRV8320S
    BOOSTXL-DRV8320H
    BOOSTXL-DRV8323RS
    BOOSTXL-DRV8323RH

    DRV834x

    DRV8343H-Q1EVM
    DRV8343S-Q1EVM

    DRV835x

    DRV8353RS-EVM
    DRV8353RH-EVM

    DRV8304

    BOOSTXL-DRV8304H

    Your suggested part is absolute and is it work for 50A motor current...… My motor current can go up to 50A...

    Hi Amol,

    The suggested parts are all gate driver devices and are not limited by motor current. They are rated up to an abs max voltage and have peak gate drive current specifications to switch the external MOSFETs to supply current to the motor. 

    DRV8306 is rated up to 40-V max, ideal for 12-V/24-V battery applications
    DRV832x is rated up to 60-V max, ideal for 24-V battery applications
    DRV834x is rated up to 60-V max, ideal for 24-V battery applications
    DRV835x is rated up to 60-V max, ideal for 48-V battery applications
    DRV8304 is rated up to 40-V max, ideal for 12-V/24-V battery applications

     Can we use DRV3220-Q1 part? , it is available in TI inventory, Can please provide the technical document (like schematic).

    Hi Amol,

    DRV3220-Q1 is a functional safety automotive gate driver, it requires NDA for datasheet and resource access. I would not recommend this part if functional safety or automotive rating is not required. 

    My best recommendation is to order DRV8328, which just recently released for production and is available now. It is a 6x PWM 3-phase gate driver with bootstrap architecture, rated 4.5V to 60V, max gate drive current of 1-A source, 2-A sink current. You can evaluate with the DRV8328AEVM.

    Hi Aaron,

     Thanks for your recommendation, But DRV8328 part is not available in TI inventory and Digikey, what will be the lead time ,As you said It is new part and I would select for my design.

    I would request to you recommend which is available in TI inventory and Digikey.
