DRV8245H-Q1EVM: DRV8245-Q1 About output delay time of IPROPI

Part Number: DRV8245H-Q1EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8245-Q1

Hi Team

I am trying to apply the electromagnetic brake with the DRV8245-Q1.

I want to control the current by feeding back the current flowing through the electromagnetic brake, but when I checked it on the evaluation board, the voltage of IPROPI was 5 μs behind Vout.

Why is the operation of IPROPI delayed by 5 μs with respect to the output voltage?

Is it possible to reduce this delay?

Pin setting

IPROPI: 1.0kΩ

ITRIP: LVL1

SLEW RATE: LVL1

DIAG: LVL1

MODE: LVL2

VVM:12V

IN1 PWM DUTY Cycle:40%

Ramp Rate1:0

CH1:VIN CH2:VOUT CH3:VIPROPI

  • Hi Mizushima san,

Thank you for your feedback regarding EVM behavior.

Could you measure with current on OUTx ? IPROPI follows the current on OUTx, not Voltage on OUTx. If OUTx current has delay against OUTx voltage ramp, IPROPI should have some delay.
