Hi!
In the response from Cole, he indicated that there will be a PSPICE model for DRV8320 in mid 2021, any update here?
Best Regards,
Per-Olof

Hi Per-Olof,
I believe it was completed, just not published yet. I need to check with the engineer who designed it.
Thanks,
Aaron
Hi Per-Olof,
I have attached the encrypted DRV832x PSPICE model. We are working on getting this published onto the DRV832x product page.
DRV832x PSPICE Model.zip
Thanks,
Aaron
Hi Aaron,
I have tried the model with the included example with "PSpice for TI". It works fine, but when I change the IDIRVE_xxxx parameters I can't see any change in driving current. Maybe this is not implemented in the model or did I do something wrong?
I put all parameters IDRIVE_xxxx = 1 (in the "DRIVER PARAMETERS" box in the schematic) and put current probes on U1 p6 and p8, run a simulation, changed all IDRIVE_xxxx = 0.1, run a new simulation but I get the same currents. I checked the "DRV832x_TOP_LVL.net"-file and I can see that IDRIVE_xxxx-values are changed.
Best Regards,
Per-Olof
Hi Per-Olof,
I need some time to import into PSPICE and try myself, can I give you an update by the end of the week?
I recall IDRIVE_xxxx = 1 may not simulate correctly in DRV8343-Q1 PSPICE model, there's a divide by zero or some mathematical error in simulation. What was the default IDRIVE parameter? Can you try the test again using 0.999 instead of 1 and see if you simulate a difference between 0.999 and 0.1?
Thanks,
Aaron
Hi Aaron,
I've tried with 0.999, but there is no difference.
NP, I'll wait for your results.
Thanks for your support!
Per-Olof
Hi Per-Olof,
Thanks for the update, I will play with the DRV832x PSPICE model tomorrow.
Thanks,
Aaron
Hi Per-Olof,
I apologize for getting to this late. I was able to import the DRV832x PSPICE model into PSPICE and got issues when I used these settings:

I need to dig further with our modeling expert to determine why the simulation aborted at lower IDRIVE settings. This may take time.
When I used IDRIVE PU and PD settings of 1 and 2, I was able to get this simulation result to work measuring GHx, SHx, and GLx.

Can you use the DRV8343-Q1 PSPICE model in the meantime? This one should be fully functional and have a similar gate drive output stage as DRV832x.
Thanks,
Aaron
