DRV8245-Q1: How to calculate the junction temperature Tj using thermal resistance

Part Number: DRV8245-Q1

Hi team,

Here's an issue from the customer may need your help:

Background: when the IC is operating normally, the Tc is experimentally measured and the power loss (Power) is known to calculate the junction temperature.

The customer would like to confirm which of the following (R θ JC(top) /R θ JC(bot)/θ JT) thermal resistance is used to calculate Tj more accurately:

  1. Tj=Tc+ RθJC(top)*Power
  2. Tj=Tc+ RθJC(bot)*Power
  3. Tj=Tc+ ΨJT *Power

Could you help resolve this case? Thanks.

Best Regards,

Cherry
