BOOSTXL-DRV8320RS: instaspin-lab-5/6/7---when-iq/d-current-limit-is-reached-the-motor-control-stops

Part Number: BOOSTXL-DRV8320RS

I am having issues with the current limit in the instaspin GUI. As you could see, the motor is connected to the break and I am trying to evaluate the motor at 10A-12A. Unfortunately, the moment the Iq current reaches around 4.5A, the motor stops. Can anyone please guide me if I can change the current limit from 6A to say 15A which the eval board is capable of? I tried to change in User params but no luck. Any guidance is highly appreciated.

  • You might try to run the lab07 within CCS, and change the "USER_MOTOR_MAX_CURRENT_A" in user.h for setting the maximum torque current (reference Iq).

Lab05 is for motor parameters, and can't be used for running the motor with load as you want.

Lab06 is torque control mode, the Iq is controlled by setting the reference Iq (IdqSet_A.value[1]) in the project.
