DRV2604L: Patent question about touch pan application by using DRV2604

Hi Sir,

My customer want to start their new touch pan and add new vibration function by using TI's haptic motor driver. But other competitor said there might be patent question about haptic application on gaming or pc peripheral product and they can help to solve it. Is is true that there might be patent in haptic application? And can we help to solve if customer want to design DRV haptic drive on their product? Thanks for your kindly help.

Could you give more information about what kind of application the customer wants to achieve? This patent seems to be what the competitor is talking about: https://patents.google.com/patent/US10133354B2/en Without knowing more we can't say for certain if he can help or not.

Hi Jeff,

Only we know is customer's touch pen used on tablet product and want to add response function when using the pan. Do you think there's patent issue when using (DRV) haptic drive at that product / application?
