DRV8432: Mode select Pins

Hi,

I am using DRV8432DKD.

In datasheet the mode select pin connection is given in section 9.4.4 as "It is not recommended to connect mode pins to board ground if 1-Ω resistor is used between AGND and GND".

but in EVM and application circuit mode pins are connected to GND even though the AGND and GND are connected with 1-ohm resistor.

Kindly, provide a clarification on connection of mode select pins,

They should be connected to AGND like the schematic above shows....not board GND.

Are you trying to micro-step or just full step? The device is not really designed for high levels of micro-stepping as the current regulation is fixed with external resistor. For high levels of micro-stepping and high current, I suggest the DRV8711 gate driver + external FETs. Otherwise, the DRV8434 could be considered as our highest power integrated FET device.
