DRV8343-Q1: SOA,SPA,SNA connection when not using current sense function

Part Number: DRV8343-Q1

Dear team,

How to connect SOA,SPA,SNA pin when the customer doesn't use the current sense function?

Thanks & Best Regards,

Sherry

  • Hi Sherry,

Thanks for reaching out via e2e -

    The general best-practice is to:

    1. SOA pin should be left floating
      1. this is so that the CSA output can change freely as needed
      2. we want to avoid tying these pins to GND or other networks, because SOx may introduce noise to that network by trying to drive it High/Low based on CSA input-output logic
    2. SPA/SNA pins should be grounded
      1. we want to ground this so that the CSA inputs are known to have zero voltage differential
      2. by doing this, we will avoid triggering CSA-based overcurrent protection (shown in Sx_OC register bits in 'Diag Status A/B/C'

    Best Regards,
