DRV8812: DRV8812 brake function

Part Number: DRV8812
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8814

Hi Team,

Due to the lead time issue, the customer is planning using DRV8812 to replace DRV8814.

When the customer using DRV8814, the control of our Drcay pin is Low, so when the motor Enable pin is Low, Out1 and Out2 will continue to be grounded and brake (there is a reverse current when the motor brakes).

However, when the DRV8812 was replaced, there was no reverse current in the brake moment, resulting in over-positioning.
The DRV8812 specification does not have decay mode and H-bridge Logic, but Figure 6 mentions Slow decay (brake).

Does the DRV8812 have a braking mode? Decay=Low Enable=Low OUT1 and OUT2 will always be grounded (for a long time, non-PWM instantaneous conduction).

Looking forward to your feedback.

Thanks!

Best regards,

Jamie
