DRV8434SEVM: TRQ_COUNT value after changing TRQ_DAC level

Can you advise on the validity of the TRQ_COUNT (12-bit) value after a change is made to the TRQ_DAC register?  For instance, is there a wait time advised before valid readings of TRQ_COUNT resume.  Can you advise on what step motor operating parameters need to be considered? Thank you.
