DRV8718-Q1: Turn off the low-side MOSFET when SHx pin is shorted to power supply

Hi team

My customer  is simulating the possible short circuit event and found that low side MOSFET is always on when SHx pin is shorted to power supply:

The customer turns the two low-side MOSFET on (for braking), and then shorted any one of the two ends of the motor(SHX pins) to the power supply, what operation does the customer need to do to make DRV8718 turn off the low-side MOSFET?

    Thank you for your question. In case of "short to the power supply", VDS overcurrent protection can be used. Low side current will be increased while the short to the supply, then VDS overcurrent protection can turn off the gate drive then low side FET will be OFF.
