DRV8718-Q1: Abnormal VCP output voltage after power up

Part Number: DRV8718-Q1

Hi team

My customer reported that VCP is abnormal occasionally after power up when VCP almost equals to PVDD, however for normal condition VCP is ~10V higher than PVDD. Have you met similar problem before? And what is the possible reason?

Attached please find their schematic and also the capacitor P/N:

100nF 50V 10% 0402 X7R P/N: 0402B104K500NT

1uF 50V 10% 0603 X7R  P/N: CC0603KRX7R9BB105

  • Shawn,

We have not seen this before.  Components look OK.  Do they see this on more than one board?  Can you check nSLEEP status?  If nSLEEP has noise on it, device may be going into sleep state which would disable CP.

    Regards,

    Ryan
