The Details on the Data sheet specifically show DIR pin on the Device (Figure 2-9 )

but the pin out for the device is missing this pin !!!

this means the direction can only be set by registers ?

Hi Liran,

Yes, on the MCT8316Z0R (SPI variant), the DIR pin is replaced with nSCS.

You can only set the direction using the DIR bit (Ctrl Reg 7, bit 0).
