Can TI motorware be used to PLL speed control of a motor

Hello,

I am trying to make a PLL or syncronous speed controller for a BLDC motor.

Doing research I have stumbled upon: https://www.ti.com/lit/an/slua085/slua085.pdf

But however, all the parts are obsolute.

What is the modern way of making something equivalent of PLL motor speed control?

Can I use DRV8301 with the appropiate launchpad, and accomplish speed control of a bldc motor at 6000rpm.

The only requirement is that I spin the motor up as fast as I can up to 6000rpm and keep it.

What do you mean this? Can you have a detailed explanation? Are you going to run the motor with speed-close loop control? Or want to implement the PLL to estimate the rotor position and speed of the motor?

That depends on the motor you used, like the rated voltage, rated current. The DRV8301 is ok for the low voltage motor (< 60V).

I need a closed-loop speed control, and I just want to control the speed of the motor, using PLL or any other more recent technique.

Generally, the typical motor control uses the PI or PID regulator to implement the speed close-loop. The PLL is just used to estimate the rotor angle or speed as mentioned above. The BLDC/PMSM motors control examples in motorWare use the PI regulator for both speed and current control.

You may download and install motorware which has many example projects to support this kit, and follow the lab guide to understand these lab projects.
