DRV8876: DRV8876: The IPROPI Clamp Specification

Part Number: DRV8876

The datasheet says this about the IPROPI Clamp.

The DRV887x devices implements an internal IPROPI voltage clamp circuit to limit VIPROPI with respect to VVREF.

I need to know how precise the IPROPI Clamp is.

Does it limit the IPROPI voltage to 1uV above the VREF voltage, or 1mV or 10mV or 100mV 0r 700mV?

I assume that some overdrive of the internal IPROPI comparator is required.

I also assume that overdrive voltage does appear at the IPROPI pin.

The datasheet says nothing about this.

I wish to use an external comparator to perform a function whenever the h-bridge output is shorted.

Shorting the output will quickly send the device into the hard overcurrent mode, starting the 3us tOCP Overcurrent Protection Deglitch Timer.

I want may additional comparator to do its thing before the 3us tOCP Overcurrent Protection Deglitch Time expires.

Hence, I need to know the overdrive voltage available at the IPROPI pin in excess of the voltage at the VREF pin.

If I don't know the overdrive voltage available at the IPROPI pin then I will have to do a resistive divider to reference my comparator somewhat below the VREF voltage.

That might lead to issues with my comparator going off before the tDELAY Current Sense Delay Time expires upon a soft overcurret event.

Thank You
