DRV8830: Level translation required for 6.8V supply

Based on the spec sheet, the I2C lines require over 50% of VCC for input high, so in a 3.3V system with 4 batteries for the main supply (assume 6.8V max), level translation would be required on the I2C lines between the microcontroller and the DRV8830. Is this correct?

    It depends on the MCU output logic level, and what is your batt minimum voltage for VCC? Is 6.8v is the max batt voltage, not less?

    For logic low input , worst case is with VCC=6.8v, then the MCU output should be 0.25 * 6.8 = 1.7v or lower

    For logic high input, the MCU output should be 0.5 * 6.8 = 3.4v or higher. If this indeed the case then it needs level shifter.
