DRV8304: Acceleration & Deceleration control with 1x pwm mode

Hello forum,

I’m trying to use DRV8304 for controlling BLDC motor.

and I’m thinking to use synchronous 1x PWM mode as a configuration.

what I want to know is that how to control BLDC motor including acceleration and deceleration. Is it enough to control PWM duty change for acceleration and deceleration?

I mean if I increase or decrease duty length for a certain amount of time, BLDC can be accelerated or decelerated?

If there is a recommended way to control speed with acceleration and deceleration, please give me any tip.

Thanks, and I need to mention one more thing.

In my current concept, hall sensor is not read by MCU which gives PWM input to DRV8304.

And MCU changes the duty of PWM in acceleration and deceleration as below.

Gives 10% duty of pulses 10 times.
Gives 15% duty of pulses 10 times.
. . .
Gives 40% duty of pulses 10 times
