Hi team,

We are using MD040E3, and we cannot connect the 1.0.1 GUI software to the EVM.

We found below note from the guidebook, should we use the 0.1.0 version?

Also, if we replace the DRV8462 chip with DRV8452 chip, should we use 1.0.1 or 0.1.0?

Hey Zeming,

If you are using Preproduction silicon with an E3 board then you need to use the 0.1.0 version.

For production silicon you must use the GUI v1.0.1 and latest firmware. If you have E3 board it should be fine, it might just show RevID incorrectly which you can fix the ID resistor per Rev A schematic if you want to.

Even if the RevID is not correct, it should not affect the functionality.

Hi Akshay,

Thanks for your answer and sorry for the late response.

We checked the chip on the EVM, it was PDRV8462, and the 0.1.0 version works well for it.

Then we replaced the chip with DRV8452 chip, but it still cannot work with the 1.0.1 version.

Could you please let me know why? Do we need change other settings of the E3 board if we want to use 1.0.1 GUI?

Thanks for your support. Can I ask one more question?

The customer is using MD40E3 EVM and he wants to know the schematic, but we can only find MD040E2 and MD040A design files at ti.com. Can you share E3 files? or E2 and E3 are the same?
