Hi TI Team,

I'd like to ask you about the questions below of DRV8243SQRXYRQ1, and my customer wants the kind answers of TI BU engineer to submit their OEM. Please check and let me know.

1. There is a requirement for nFAULT pull-up resistance of 1k to 2k, is there a reason for specifying a range?

2. I currently designed the nFAULT pull-up resistance to 10k, is there a problem with the drive?

3. Is there a design guide for free-wheeling?

Jeffrey,

I think you have a typo above as these questions seem to relate to DRV8243S.

1) I am not sure where you see the 2k limitation. This is from datasheet. 10k is OK.

3) What do you mean by "design guide"? This is discussed in the datasheet.

Hi Ryan,

You're right, There was a typo above, so I corrected it.

3) I mean that it is a technical guidelines to protect DRV8243S from free-wheeling. There is no related description in the datasheet.

Jeffrey,

The internal diodes can handle the current during free-wheeling thru the diodes. There is no need to add external diodes for protection.
