BOOST-DRV8711: Example Code

Hi,

Good Day.

I have this module "BOOST-DRV8711" and I have connected the stepper motor to it and connected the Arduino uno board via SPI.

I have programmed the uno board with the program of providing the step signal via the STEP pin on the module but am not able to run the stepper motor.

Can you provide any example code for running this module via SPI with the controller?

I'm confused with the initialization part of the module, especially about the sleep and reset pins of the module. Can you help me with that?

Hello Ray,

We don't have any reference code for the arduino board. The only reference code is the one provided with the BOOST-DRV8711 launchpad which you can find here.

Good Day. Can you tell me what to do with sleep and reset pins in initialization and throughout the program, because the datasheet doesn't provide much information about those pins? Thank you very much.

Hello Ray,

The nSLEEP needs to be logic HIGH either before or after VM is supplied to the DRV. The RESET pin will reset the internal logic and outputs when pulled logic HIGH. Therefore, RESET pin should be OPEN or tied to GND to ensure the DRV is in active operation.
