DRV8834: The stepper motor voltage issue

Part Number: DRV8834

Hi team,

As per Table 6 in Section 9.2.2.1 of the datasheet, can the DRV8834 only drive a stepper motor at 6V? If a 10-V stepper motor is to be driven, can VM be applied at 10 V? Or what kind of circuit should be added?

Could you help check this case? Thanks.

Best Regards,

Cherry

  • Hi Cherry,

I'm not sure if I understood your question correctly. I'm assuming you are asking if the DRV8834 can drive a 10-V stepper motor using 10V AS THE VM supply. The answer to that question will be yes. The driver can handle up to 11V. Please correct me if I misunderstood your question.
