DRV8834: The stepper motor voltage issue

Part Number: DRV8834

Hi team,

As per Table 6 in Section of the datasheet, can the DRV8834 only drive a stepper motor at 6V? If a 10-V stepper motor is to be driven, can VM be applied at 10 V? Or what kind of circuit should be added?

Could you help check this case? Thanks.

Best Regards,

  • Hi Cherry,

I'm not sure if I understood your question correctly. I'm assuming you are asking if the DRV8834 can drive a 10-V stepper motor using 10V AS THE VM supply. The answer to that question will be yes. The driver can handle up to 11V. Please correct me if I misunderstood your question.
