DRV8353R: NTx signification on DRV8353RS-EVM schematics

Part Number: DRV8353R

Hi,

I plan to use a DRV8353R in my motor drive design.

What is the meaning of NT1....NT7 on the schematics of the DRV8353RS-EVM please?

Best regards,

David

  • Hi David,

Thank you for posting on the E2E forum! NT stands for net tie which is a component used to connect net names at important points on the PCB. The EVM designer added these to ensure that the connections are in the correct places. For example, the SNA input of the DRV must be attached to the GND of the phase A shunt instead of just any part of the GND plane. Please let me know if this answers your question.

    Best,

    Eli
