DRV8350H-EVM: DRV8350-EVM

Part Number: DRV8350H-EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8353, DRV8350

Hello,

I am trying to evaluate the sensored operation of the DRV835x driver using the DRV8350H-EVM . I followed the  steps mentioned in the EVM user guide (SLVUB78A)  and https://e2e.ti.com/support/motor-drivers-group/motor-drivers/f/motor-drivers-forum/963560/ccs-drv8350s-evm-configuring-drv8350s-evm-for-sensored-mode#
I was able to get the EVM work in 6*PWM sensored mode with Hall sensors connected to J2. But I couldn't get it to work in 1*PWM mode
Here is what I did for testing the  1*PWM - Hall Sensor
  • connected the hall sensor inputs to J2, soldered the unpopulated resistors R46, R48 & R51 with 0 Ohm  and selected 5V for hall sensor power (J1)
  •  changed PWM_Mode variable in the Init.c file to 0b1 instead of 0b0 , build & programmed the target
  • The GUI  connected to the  "sensored motor" option. 1*PWM mode was selected.
  •  As I  increased the motor speed (%) from 0 to 18,  the Fault Status Indicator indicated Motor Stall

To test the 1*PWM - Simple Controller , I removed the resistors so that the state inputs comes from the MCU-GPIO. But still couldn't get it to work in 1*PWM mode
Does the firmware https://www.ti.com/tool/download/SLVC755 support 1*PWM operation (simple, hall sensor or both ) ?
thanks
Najma
